DOLCE & GABBANA FW 2006

crying because i’ll never be rich enough to afford this perfect outfit.

The Lady Jilli will roll her eyes at how much I’m coveting this (YES I am aware of the impracticality of capes) but sweeping around in this would be decidedly lovely. And that VEST….

Pumpkin, I am NOT rolling my eyes at your coveting, believe me. It’s a gorgeous outfit, and I do love capes, no matter how impractical they are.

Capes can be relatively simple to make, especially if you decide not to have a lining in the. That looks like a simple semi circle shape with a shoulder seam, collar and lapels on the front, if you’re interested I’d happily help you find a pattern and talk you through making it, or I’m taking commissions on cosplay and clothing at the minute :)

I’ll probably be MIA for a bit

It’s deadline time and I’m already close to a mental breakdown.

Technically stuff isn’t due for two weeks, but I go on two week work placement on Monday so I have to have pretty much everything done this weekend.

Hugs would be appreciated

Pardon My Bloomers: Help With sewing Lolita dresses?

cute-is-the-new-hott:

hey so, I’m thinking about making my own Lolita clothes (dresses mostly) to save money but mostly because I love to sew. I watched some tutorials and I noticed that In all of them they never sew on a zipper. Do they just slip it over their heads, or do they buy a more…

There’s various different ways to fasten dresses. If you want shirring, that’s usually done by hand (Or with an expensive specialist machine) and you need special shirring elastic. When I make my dresses I usually put a zip in. You need to decide on a front or side fastening and make sure that the zip goes down into the skirt not just the bodice, or it won’t fit over your waist (or in my case, my arse) Or you can lace it if you want that kind of effect (best to lace it at the front unless you have someone to help you dress, but you need to put a plastic or steel bone next to the eyelet/button holes otherwise the fabric will pull together and look silly, and you need a modesty panel. If any of this interests you, I’d actually be more than happy to talk to you in more depth about dressmaking and maybe show you some tutorials via skype.

Really hope this helps, never be discouraged just because something’s a little tricky, because, trust me, it’s worth it when you’re wearing your own dress and everyone is talking about it

This hat seems to be gaining interest on Etsy, so if you’re interested better snap it up quick! Here is the item page

I can make similar items on request, however bear in mind that this was upcycled out of an old sun hat so it won’t be the same but it will be unique to you. Also I am a student in my last few weeks of term so I won’t be able to take any commissions until roughly the end of May

GUYS I JUST MADE MY FIRST EVER SALE OF ONE OF MY OWN HANDMADE ITEMS UNDER MY LABEL I’M SCREAMING A LITTLE!!!!

Someone on DeviantArt just emailed me asking if this was still available and I said it was, and I had a look at other bonnets and although they were all missing the back bit (Which kinda bothers me because that’s not very sturdy) they were about £45 and so I said I’d sell it to her for that, and the postage to America is about a tenner but because it’s my first ever sale I’ll knock it down to a fiver and I’m just waiting to hear back from her OH MY GOD so exciting ^_^

Two keyrings and a ring/bracelet for sale!

Again, because I’m desperate for cash I’m selling more stuff.

The first one is a little keyring of a red wooden fish with gold wire, the second is a gold coloured metal dagger with more gold wire. The bracelet is a metal chain attached to a gold ring with a gold shell.

All under a fiver, message me if you like, if you don’t like still reblog for me so I can spread it round! :)
